Teddy Okereafor

Men's Basketball, Graduate, London, England / Virginia Commonwealth / Christchurch School

Rider graduate student Teddy Okereafor (London, England) is excelling in the classroom and on the basketball court for the Rider Broncs.  A Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection, Teddy O. has a 3.44 cumulative grade point average.  On the basketball court, Teddy O. led Rider to its first two MAAC wins, including a victory over the first place team, by scoring 61 points to earn MAAC Player of the Week honors.  Last year Teddy O. was a Second Team All-MAAC selection in his first year playing for Rider and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He sat-out the 2013-14 season at Rider as a transfer from VCU.  During the summer Teddy O. plays for the Great Britain National Team.  In his first 50 games at Rider Teddy O. compiled over 600 points and over 200 assists.

 

Aryn McClure

Women's Basketball, Freshman, Springfield Gardens, NY / Archbishop Molloy

Aryn McClure was named MAAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday, January 18. McClure led all MAAC freshman in scoring as she averaged 14 points while leading the Bobcats to a Western NY road weekend sweep of Niagara (61-54) and Canisius (80-68) for the third straight season. McClure added 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27 minutes per game for the week. McClure started her week with a solid nine points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes as she helped lead Quinnipiac past Niagara on Friday. She followed that up with a dominating showing at Canisius, going for a career-high 19 points on 8-of-19 shooting and 3-of-4 at the free throw line. McClure added eight rebounds and a career-high eight assists to go along with two blocks, two steals and just one turnover in 30 minutes. The eight assists for McClure rank as the second-most in a single-game for a Quinnipiac freshman in the school’s Div. I history (since 1998-99) while also representing the most for any Bobcat in a single-game this season. McClure’s dominating performance against the Golden Griffins helped inspire a come-from-behind win as she either scored or assisted on 23-of-31 points over the course of 11:33 for the Bobcats in the third and fourth quarter to help seal the 12-point win over Canisius.
