BALTIMORE - Marist men's lacrosse senior attack Joseph Radin was selected 45th overall by the Charlotte Hounds in the sixth round of the 2016 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft on Jan. 22 at Hilton Baltimore. The draft had been moved ahead to 2 p.m. today due to impending inclement weather.

The left handed attackman became the first MLL draft choice in Marist Lacrosse history. He joined Mike Begley and Nick Armstrong as the only Red Foxes ever to be on an MLL roster. Begley was selected in the 2015 Undrafted College Player Pool in June 2015 while Armstrong was on the 40-man roster for the Denver Outlaws in 2012.

Radin broke the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference single-season scoring record in 2015, firing 55 goals, including 11 on the man up, in 18 games. His 73 points were the third highest in a single season in program history. One of five Marist players to notch his 100th career point last season, Radin posted career highs with seven goals and eight points at Manhattan on April 18 to lead the Red Foxes to the MAAC regular season title. In MAAC Tournament wins over Monmouth and Quinnipiac, Radin compiled 10 points on seven goals and three assists to earn a spot on the conference’s All-Tournament Team.

Radin finished ninth in the nation in goals per game (3.06) and 20th in points per game (4.06) last season. He was a unanimously selected as the 2016 MAAC Player of the Year by the league's seven head coaches when the conference's preseason poll was released Dec. 9. At a banquet celebrating Marist's 2015 MAAC Championship in September, Radin was selected to wear no. 34 in honor of the late Edward Coombs.

Entering the 2016 season, Radin is ranked ninth in career points (153) and tied for fourth in career goals (115). Nationally, he is ranked fourth among active Division I players in career goals.

Marist won the MAAC Tournament in Tenney Stadium on May 2, defeating Quinnipiac 16-14. The Red Foxes hosted the first NCAA postseason event in the college's history when they took down Bryant, 10-6, in a preliminary round game in front of a record crowd of 1,873 fans on May 6. Marist's 2015 season ended with a first round loss at no. 2 Syracuse four days later.
