Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Kelsey Horst, Siena

Jr., F, Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West

Horst had a career week for the Saints, totaling seven points on three goals and an assist and scored the game-winning goals in both matches to propel the defending MAAC Champions to a tournament bye and the No. 2 seed. On Wednesday, Horst scored the decisive goal as Siena shutout Quinnipiac to secure the program’s fourth consecutive MAAC Tournament berth. In Saturday’s MAAC Championship Match rematch against Manhattan, she factored in the scoring on three of the Saints’ four goals and once again scored the game-winner as Siena clinched the No. 2 seed and a bye to the semifinals of the MAAC Tournament. Horst finished with a pair of goals and an assist, as her five points marked a career-high.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Megan DeFeo, Fairfield

So., GK, Rye, NH/Exeter

Sophomore goalkeeper Megan DeFeo made 15 saves on the week and shutout the top two teams in the conference in Monmouth and Rider. She helped shutout the Hawks for the first time since August 28 with a career-high nine saves as the Stags played to a scoreless draw against the league leaders, snapping a seven game winning streak for Monmouth, which was the fourth longest in the country. Coming into the match, Monmouth had scored 41 goals, just one shy of the national lead. She followed that performance with a shutout victory against Rider, lowering her goals against average to 0.68 this season.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Amanda Knaub, Monmouth

Fr., GK, Enola, PA/Trinity

Rookie goalkeeper Amanda Knaub played in both shutout victories for the Hawks this past week. Knaub earned her eighth career clean sheet after she made three saves at Canisius and set a new career-high with four stops in the draw at Fairfield. She now has a goals-against average of 0.37 and a 10-1-2 record for the year. Knaub’s eight shutouts are the most for a Monmouth rookie goalkeeper since Lia Fierro had eight in 2007.
