Flath, Wilcox Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

Christian Flath
Men’s Soccer | Senior | Midfield | 5’11” | Bargeshagen, Germany
Christian Flath of the Rider soccer team is a strong candidate for Academic All-America honors. A Business Administration major with a 3.579 cumulative grade point average, Flath is a three-time First Team All-MAAC selection, including a unanimous selection in 2014 when he was second in the MAAC in points and third in goals as a sophomore. A former MAAC Rookie of the Year, Flath was an All-Northeast Region selection last year as a junior when he was second in the MAAC in goals and third in points. In 62 Rider games Flath has 67 career points, with 24 goals, including four game-winners and is nine for nine in career penalty kicks. During the summer of 2016 Flath played for the Des Moines Menace of the Premier Development League. Flath even scored a goal in the US Open Cup, a tournament that featured MLS teams playing against amateur teams.
Sara Wilcox
Cross Country | Freshman | 5’7” | Glastonbury, CT/ Glastonbury
Freshman Sara Wilcox was the big star on the day for the women’s cross country program, as she led Quinnipiac with a 40th place finish out of 127 competitors at the CCSU Mini Meet. Placing first on the team for the first time in her young career, Wilcox becomes the first freshman Bobcat to finish first on the team in an event since the 2014 season. She clocked in at 10:50.88 on a gorgeous Stanley Quarter Park on Friday.
