2016 MAAC Women's Soccer Championship Seeding Set

EDISON, NJ – Following the conclusion of the 2016 MAAC Women’s Soccer Regular Season this evening, the top six seeds have been determined for the 2016 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship.
Monmouth University (9-0-1, 28 pts) clinched its fourth straight regular season championship earlier this week and will serve as the host institution for the semifinals and the championship game. The Hawks will face the lower advancing seed from the first round on Friday, November 4 in one of two semifinals matchups.
Siena College (7-3, 21 pts) earns the number two seed and a first-round bye. The Saints will take on the higher advancing seed from the first round on Friday, November 4 in the other semifinals matchup. Semifinal game times are to be determined.
Rider University (6-3-1, 19 pts) finished as the third seed and will welcome the sixth seeded Marist College Red Foxes (5-4-1, 16 pts) on Saturday, October 29 for a first-round contest.
Fourth seeded Quinnipiac University (6-4, 18 pts) will take on fifth seeded Canisius College (6-4, 18 pts) in a first-round matchup on Saturday, October 29 in Hamden, CT. The Bobcats hold the tiebreaker with their regular season victory over the Griffs.Game times for the first round are to be determined.
Both semifinals matchups of the 2016 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship will be held on Friday, November 4 with the championship game taking place on Sunday, November 6 at 3:00 p.m.The semifinals and championship game will be broadcasted on ESPN3.
