Stewart Drafted in Second Round of NBA Developmental League Draft

New York, NY – The Austin Spurs selected former Rider University standout Danny Stewart with the 18th pick in the second round of the 2016 NBA Developmental League Draft on Sunday, October 31.
Stewart was a four-year starter for Rider from 2010-14. Over the course of his career, he compiled 1,436 points, 888 rebounds, 98 assists, 101 blocks, and 93 steals. He recorded the second-most rebounds (888) in Rider history and the 15th-most in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) history.
As a senior, Stewart averaged 15.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Broncs. He shot 44.4 (130-of-293) percent from the field, 39.7 (25-of-63) percent from behind the arc, and 85.4 (60-of-134) percent from the free-throw line. He was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team in his senior campaign.
NBA D-League training camp rosters will be comprised of players who were drafted, along with returning, affiliate, NBA Draft rights and local tryout players and cannot exceed 17 total players. Teams had to make a minimum of four player selections in the Draft and all players who were selected must be invited to training camp.
For the sixth consecutive year, all 22 NBA D-League teams and the NBA D-League headquarters in New York participated in the Draft.
