Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Zack Molloy, Rider
Jr., 6’0”, Toms River, NJ/Toms River HS North
Molloy topped his 2014 showing by collecting three wins in the 100 free (46.10), 200 free (1:39.44), and in the 400 free relay with sophomore Vincent Gibbons and seniors Matthan-Matthew Martir and older brother William Molloy with a time of 3:05.87. The Broncs won the dual meet, defeating Delaware, 181-106, and La Salle, 175-122.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Travis Wright, Canisius
Jr., 5’9”, Derby, NY/Lake Shore
The men’s diving team finished with the top two slots in the one and three meter, with Travis Wright winning each event. Wright swept the men’s diving events with scores of 326.55 in the one meter and 339.53 in the three meter event.
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Elizabeth Kaczmarek, Iona
Jr., 5’10”, Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial
Junior Elizabeth Kaczmarek won two races on Friday, November 11 against Monmouth, and followed it up with a win against Providence on Saturday, November 12.
Against the Hawks, Kaczmarek won the 200-breaststroke (2:34.87) and 100-IM (1:02.60). Against the Friars, she took home the 400 IM in 4:42.87.
The time she recorded against Monmouth on Friday in the 100-IM is currently the fastest of any MAAC swimmer according to Collegeswimming.com. She followed it up on Saturday in the 400-IM with the fastest conference time in the 400-IM.
Women’s Diver of the Week
Vivian Mroz, Canisius
So.,5’7”, Denver, CO/Bronxville
Sophomore Vivian Mroz won both the one and three meter women’s diving events with scores of 239.10 and 243.23. The Blue and Gold swept both the men’s and women’s diving events against St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
