Kelly Hanna Scores Golden Goal In Double OT to Send Monmouth to the 2016 MAAC Field Hockey Championship Game

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – At the 92:12 mark of the second overtime between top seeded Monmouth University and the fourth seeded Rider University, Kelly Hanna scored her second goal of the game to give the Hawks a 3-2 double overtime win against the Broncs.
The Broncs tied the game up at two with no time left on the clock in the second half on a corner when Alice Otterson scored on an assist from Melissa Cunningham. Monmouth attempted ten shots in the first overtime, outshooting the Broncs 10-0, but another set of 15 would be needed to determine a winner.
Monmouth University will now face Fairfield University on Sunday, November 6 at 11 a.m. at So Sweet A Cat Field on the campus of Monmouth University in the 2016 MAAC Field Hockey Championship Game.
