Quinnipiac Women's Hoops Ranked 6th in College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac University’s Women’s Basketball team placed sixth in this week’s College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. The Bobcats have been ranked within the Top 10 for five consecutive weeks dating back to November 15.

Green Bay captured the top spot, receiving 30 out of a possible 31 first place votes. Gonzaga, South Dakota State, Ohio, and Buffalo pulled ahead of Quinnipiac at sixth overall. The Bobcats are coming off a 1-1 week, with an 82-59 win over Hartford and suffered a 71-54 defeat against Michigan State.

Quinnipiac has a record of (2-0 MAAC, 7-2 overall) through nine games this season. The Bobcats rattled off four straight wins to start the 2016-17 campaign defeating Florida Gulf Coast, Dayton, Holy Cross, and Northeastern. Quinnipiac earned their first two conference victories over Saint Peter’s (84-51) and Siena (73-47).

The Bobcats rank first in the MAAC in scoring offense (71.6 ppg), scoring margin (+12.8), field goal percentage defense (35.4%), three-point field goal percentage defense (24.2%), assists (18.2 apg), steals (12.2 spg), turnover margin (+6.44), and assist/turnover ratio (1.1).

Quinnipiac will be back in action on Monday, December 19 when they take on New Mexico State in the first round of the Play 4Kay Shootout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
