Monmouth's Julie Spracklin Named to 2016 NSCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-American Second Team

EDISON, NJ – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced today the NCAA Division I Women’s Scholar All-American Teams. Monmouth University’s senior defender Julie Spracklin was named to the NSCAA Women’s Scholar All-American Second Team.
Spracklin is a health studies major, who compiled a 3.51 grade-point average. The senior helped lead Monmouth to its second MAAC Championship in program history as well as its fourth NCAA Championship berth. Spracklin, a 2016 All-MAAC First Team selection tallied four goals and five assists on the season for the Hawks. In addition to this honor, Spracklin was also named to the NSCAA Scholar All-Region First Team, NSCAA All-Region First Team, and 2016 MAAC All-Academic Team.
Student-athletes receiving Scholar All-America recognition at these levels meet the following criteria:
- 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout career
- Start more than 50 percent of all games and significantly contribute to their team
- Nominated by head coach of current NSCAA College Services member institution
- Junior or above in academic standing; and, if a transfer student, in second year at school
Players on this year’s Scholar All-America Teams will be formally acknowledged for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom at the NSCAA All-America Luncheon on January 14, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in conjunction with the 2017 NSCAA Convention.
