Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Ranked Fifth in College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac University’s Women’s Basketball team placed fifth in this week’s College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. The Bobcats moved up one spot in the poll after being ranked sixth overall last week. This marks the sixth week in a row that Quinnipiac has been ranked in the Top 10 dating back to November 15.

Green Bay captured the top spot, receiving 27 out of a possible 31 first place votes. Gonzaga, Buffalo, and Drake pulled ahead of Quinnipiac at fifth overall. The Bobcats are currently in the midst of the inaugural Play4Kay Shootout in Las Vegas, NV, which began on December 19.

Quinnipiac defeated New Mexico State, 49-46 in its first game of the tournament and will be back in action this evening when they take on No. 25 Oregon State at 8:00 p.m. (PST), 11:00 p.m. (EST). Quinnipiac will play its third and final game of the Play4Kay Shootout tomorrow, Wednesday, December 21 and will face either Oklahoma State or Long Beach State depending on Tuesday's results.

The Bobcats rank first in the MAAC in scoring offense (69.3 ppg), scoring margin (+11.8), field goal percentage defense (35.5%), three-point field goal percentage defense (24.1%), blocks (4.5 bpg), assists (17.5 apg), steals (12.2 spg), turnover margin (+6.50), and assist/turnover ratio (1.1).

For the second week in a row Rider received votes in the poll, but did not crack the Top 25. The Broncs received 38 votes this week, which is a 30 vote increase from last week.
