Men’s Field Performer of the Week

Tim Wilson, Monmouth

Wilson dominated the competition in the weight throw at the Monmouth Indoor Season opener, setting an IC4A qualifying mark of 19.40 meters in his first event of the season. His mark was almost a full two meters of the next closest competitor, teammate Troy Andretta. Wilson helped the Hawks stay unbeaten at home for the last eight seasons, defeating conference foes Rider and Saint Peter’s.

Men’s Track Performer of the Week

Tom Bonaro, Manhattan

Sr., Pearl River, NY

Bonaro won the 800 meters in the season-opening Crowell Open at Army West Point on Saturday.  His 1:57.76 clocking was more than a half-second ahead of the second-place finisher.

Women’s Field Performer of the Week

Marisa Robbins, Manhattan

Sr., Goshen, NY

Robbins broke her own school record at Army West Point’s Crowell Open on Saturday.  She cleared 3.87 meters (12 feet, 8¼ inches) on her third attempt to better her previous mark by two centimeters.  With that performance, which easily won the competition, Robbins also qualified for the ECAC Championships.

Women’s Track Performer of the Week

Tionna Garner, Monmouth

Sr., Trenton, NJ

Garner won or helped the Hawks win a pair of events in the Monmouth Season Opener. The senior won the 600m with a time of 1:34.78, which is the no. 2 in school history, behind only the school record 1:34.17 she ran at Rutgers last January. Garner also was the anchor leg of Monmouth’s winning 4x400 relay team, which crossed the tape with a time of 4:05.73.
