HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac University women's basketball team reentered the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll for the first time since Dec. 1, 2015 as the Bobcats earned the No. 25 rankings, as announced on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016. After earning 30 points in last week's poll, Quinnipiac moved into the No. 25 ranking with 42 points this week after extending their winning streak to 12 straight games.
BYU took the top spot in the rankings with 27 first place votes. Green Bay, Florida Gulf Coast, Princeton and South Dakota State finished off the remainder of the Top 5. The Bobcats are the lone MAAC institution ranked in the poll as Iona received one vote in the preseason mid-major poll. Quinnipiac also stands as the lone school that entered the Top 25 after being unranked in the week prior.
Quinnipiac opened the season with the No. 11 ranking which prolonged a streak that eventually hit 22 straight weeks in which the Bobcats were ranked in the national mid-major poll. During the Bobcats' 31-4 season in 2014-15, Quinnipiac was ranked as high as No. 6, a ranked that serves as the highest in program history.

Out of all the teams ranked in the mid-major poll, Quinnipiac is tied for the fourth-longest active win streak behind Florida Gulf Coast (16), Arkansas State (14) and BYU (14). In terms of all teams in the nation, Quinnipiac's win streak is tied for the seventh-longest as UConn (24), Colorado State (19) and Notre Dame (17) also join the fray. Quinnipiac is tied with Baylor (12), Oregon State (12) and New Mexico State (12).
The 12-game unbeaten streak for the Bobcats after a 0-3 start to conference play has put Quinnipiac right back into the thick of things in the MAAC standings. Currently 12-3 in league play, the Bobcats are just half a game back from Iona (17-10, 13-3 MAAC) in the standings but still control their own destiny as the two teams are set to play one another in the final game of the regular season on Sunday, Feb. 28 in New Rochelle.
Up next for the Bobcats is a much-anticipated rematch with Marist (13-13, 12-4 MAAC) who'll enter the TD Bank Sports Center for a 5:00 PM tip-off on ESPN3. The Red Foxes stand third in the league standings and are going for the season series sweep of Quinnipiac after defeating the Bobcats 56-47 back on Dec. 3, 2015 in Poughkeepsie
