EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) basketball schedule continues into the middle of February with the tournament right around the corner. The 2016 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championship takes place this week from Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY. In men’s basketball news, the Monmouth Hawks are in first place in the MAAC standings with an 11-2 conference and a 19-5 overall record. The Hawks are currently on a five-game winning streak behind MAAC player of the week, Justin Robinson. Robinson scored a career-high 36 points against Siena while averaging 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals on the week. Robinson was also named the Lou Henson National Player of the Week for the second time this season. The Iona Gaels are in second place with an 11-3 MAAC record and are on a four-game winning streak. The Siena Saints round out the top 3 with a 9-5 conference record. The schedule for this week in men’s basketball includes:

In women’s basketball news, the top three teams in the standings are a combined 24-0 in their last 24 games. The first place Iona Gaels are 12-2 in the MAAC and 16-9 overall and are on a six-game winning streak. The second place Marist Red Foxes are 11-2 in conference and 12-11 overall and are on an eight-game winning streak. Quinnipiac is in third place with a 10-3 MAAC and a 15-7 overall record and are on a 10-game winning streak. Joy Adams earned her third MAAC player of the week award after averaging 15.7 points and 19.3 rebounds per game. She became the Iona all-time leading rebounder this past week. Women’s lacrosse starts this week when Monmouth heads to Towson on Wednesday, February 10 at 4:00 p.m. The rest of the schedule for women’s lacrosse includes:
