DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 7.

Player of the Week
Joy Adams – Iona College, Sr., Forward, Orlando, Fla.
Adams averaged 15.7 points per game, 19.3 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game, 1.7 steals per game and 0.7 blocks per game for the Gaels last week, while shooting 34.6 percent from the floor and 90.9 percent from the free throw line. On Feb. 1, Adams became the all-time leading rebounder in Iona College women’s basketball program history when she grabbed her 1,431st career board with 2:37 remaining in the first quarter. In the Gaels overtime win against Canisius, Adams played 42 minutes, scoring 22 points on 9-for-24 (.375) shooting; she also pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds. Against Monmouth later in the week, Adams scored 13 points, shooting 4-for-16 (.250) from the floor, and was a dominant force on the glass. The senior grabbed 24 rebounds against the Hawks, 12 offensive and 12 defensive, and also dished out a career-high eight assists. The Florida native closed the week with another double-double against Rider, compiling 12 points and 20 rebounds.
