Player of the Week
Lindsey Silfer, Canisius
Jr., OF, 5-8, Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse
Canisius junior Lindsey Silfer hit .533 (8-for-15) with two home runs, nine RBI and three runs scored in the Golden Griffins’ trip to the Winthrop/Adidas Tournament in Rock Hill, S.C. Silfer recorded multiple hits in three of the team’s five games last week, and she drove in multiple runs in three of the team’s five contests as well. In the 8-7 loss to host Winthrop Feb. 27, the Cicero, N.Y., native hit her first grand slam in a six-run inning for the Griffs, and in the 3-0 win over Wagner Feb. 28, she drove in two of the team’s three runs with a solo homer and an RBI-single. For the week, she posted a .933 slugging percentage and a .588 on-base percentage.
Pitcher of the Week
Sydney Robey, Quinnipiac
Sr., P, 5-11, Glenmoore, PA/Dowington
Robey made three starts for the Bobcats over the weekend at the Lady Pirates Classic, submitting a 2-0 record with a 0.95 earned run average. In the opening game against Buffalo, the senior pitched a complete game, allowing just four hits and no earned runs. Quinnipiac won 3-1 as Robey picked up her first win of the tournament. Against Princeton, Robey struck out eight batters over five innings while allowing four hits and one earned run. In the final game against Hampton, the senior pitched another complete game for her second win in Virginia. Robey gave up five hits and one earned run while striking out six batters. She allowed two earned runs over 19 innings pitched while striking out 16 total batters on the weekend.
Rookie of the Week
Madysen Cossack, Siena
Fr., 1B, 5-7, Agoura Hills, CA/Agoura
Cossack batted 6-16 with one double, four RBI’s and drew two walks at the Felsberg Invitational. The freshman ranks fourth on the team in batting average (.346) and has started and played in every game for the Saints this season. The Aguora Hills, California native is tied for the team lead in hits with nine, leads the team in RBI’s with six and is second on Siena in total bases recorded with ten.
