Michael Fuhrman
Baseball, Senior, Infield, 5-10, Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra Area High School
In 2015, Michael Fuhrman led the Purple Eagles with a .340 batting average, which was also the fourth-best batting average in the MAAC. He also had the top on-base percentage (.476) in the MAAC in 2015 and was named to the All-MAAC Second Team at the conclusion of the season. He has been named MAAC Player of the Week two times in his career, as well as being named to the 2016 All-MAAC Preseason Team and College Sports Madness' All-MAAC First Team. Fuhrman is also predicted by D1Baseball.com to be the 2016 MAAC Player of the Year.
So far this season, Fuhrman leads the Purple Eagles with a .394 batting average and a .532 slugging percentage. He has a team-high 19 runs and 13 RBIs, as well as leading the team in doubles with 10.
Fuhrman is pursuing a degree in marketing, with a minor in sport management and maintains an overall grade-point average of 3.4. Fuhrman has been selected to the All-MAAC Academic Team twice and is a four-time dean’s list honoree. Fuhrman’s notable achievements on the field, in the classroom and in the community have earned him national recognition; he is one of 30 NCAA baseball student-athletes to be selected as a candidate for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award.
Domoah Kutu-Akoi
Track and Field, Sophomore, Sprints/Jumps, 5'4", Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy
Domoah Kutu-Akoi racked up four impressive finishes in both track and field events at the 21st Annual Monmouth University Season Opener. The sophomore biology major won the women’s 100-meter dash after finishing in 12.91 seconds and placed second in a field of 53 in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 26.51. In addition, Kutu-Akoi placed third in the women’s long jump after a 5.03 meter jump and was a member of the first place women’s 4x100 meter relay team that gave Monmouth its first ECAC qualifying time of the season.
