Canisius & Marist Boats Earn MAAC Rowing Weekly Honors

Varsity Eight

Canisius College

At the Knecht Cup this weekend, Canisius’ varsity eight consisting of: of Molly Murphy, Shannon Pritzker, Corrine Kickel, Madeline Kurka, Kathryn Hobika, Brooke Stanley, Nora Kennon, Sydney Bichsel, and Hannah Blum, completed the race with a time of 7:34.49. That time bested the only other MAAC schools who competed, defeating Jacksonville and Marist. The squad finished just outside the top six failing to move onto the next round.

Second Varsity Eight

Canisius College

In the Blue and Golds’ second varsity eight race at the Knecht Cup, the lineup of Mackenzie App, Chanel Davis, Amber Giambone, Michelle Turner, Bridget Lillis, Audrey Rieman, Kira Voyer, Patricia Beaulieu, and Jordan Bamrick finished with a time of 7:59.12, once again coming as the fastest MAAC school in the regatta.

Varsity Four

Marist College

The Red Foxes battled high winds, rain and snow on Saturday afternoon and chilly temperatures on Sunday. The Marist Varsity Four “A” Boat came in first place in their heat against boats from Holy Cross, Colgate, Buffalo, and Maryland. The time of 8:13.06 was good enough for the lead time and a trip to Sunday’s semi-finals.
