Men’s Golfer of the Week
Kyle Deisher, Monmouth
Sr., 6-1, Montgomery, PA/Montgomery Area
Senior Kyle Deisher battled high winds upwards of 40 MPH and periods of rain to secure a T6 finish at the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invite, hosted by Lafayette. Deisher’s two-round score of 150 (+6) led the Hawks to a fifth place finish in a field of 16 teams. He shaved six strokes off his first round score to fire an even-par 72 on the second day. Deisher’s T6 finish in Hellertown marks the sixth top-10 finish of his career.
Monmouth was the highest placing MAAC team defeating Manhattan, Iona, Saint Peter’s, and Niagara.
Women’s Golfer of the Week
Paige Fujihara, UAlbany
Jr., 5-2, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA/Palos Verdes Peninsula
Fujihara capped off her first event of the spring season with an individual title at the Seahawk Invitational. The junior led Albany through low temperatures and windy conditions to a third place finish in a field of eight teams. Fujihara shot 77 (+5) in her first round back from injury and a 76 (+4) in Monday’s final round at the Quail Valley Golf Course in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Her two-round score of 153 (+9) placed her first amongst 42 competitors.
