EDISON, NJ – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s and women’s lacrosse teams are gearing up toward a postseason run as the MAAC Lacrosse Championships are right around the corner.
In men’s lacrosse news, Quinnipiac defeated Canisius 17-9 to remain a perfect 4-0 in conference play. The Bobcats were led by MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, Brian Feldman. Feldman scored seven goals in the victory. Detroit’s Jason Weber took home MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors after holding Monmouth to eight goals in a 9-8 win on the road at Monmouth. Weber recorded 14 saves. Manhattan’s Parker Giarratana earned Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time this season after scoring four goals against in Manhattan’s win against Marist.

· Marist at New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday, April 23 at 12:00 p.m.
· Monmouth versus Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m.
· Canisius versus Detroit on Saturday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3

In women’s lacrosse news, the Canisius duo of Erica Evans and Tessa Chad were named MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Evans led the Golden Griffins to a 19-6 victory over Monmouth Saturday afternoon, recording career highs in both goals (8) and points (10), while tying a Canisius single game record for goals in a game at 8. Chad secured the Griffs 12-11 victory over Siena on Wednesday, scoring the game winning goal in overtime, while adding an early second half goal that tied the game at eight. Chad was instrumental in the Blue and Gold’s 19-6 victory over Monmouth on Saturday, scoring three times. Kara McHugh took home MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors. McHugh picked up four ground balls and caused six turnovers as Marist defeated Manhattan and Quinnipiac this week.
