Marist's Lozo and Quinnipiac's Ezaka Earn Weekly Tennis Awards

Women's Player of the Week
Caroline Lozo, Marist

Lozo went 4-0 in both doubles and singles as the Red Foxes went 1-1 on the week. In Marist’s 7-0 win over Colgate, Lozo paired with teammate Callie Morlock to defeat Colgate’s number one doubles team, 6-3. Lozo then went on to win at the number one singles spot in straight sets, defeating Colgate’s Lauren Hyland, 6-4, 6-2. In Marist’s loss to Quinnipiac, Lozo continued her winning streak as she paired up with Ariel Shulman to defeat a tough Quinnipiac pairing of Sophia Dzulynsky and Sitilia Rencheli, 6-4. Lozo earned her fourth win of the week from the number two singles position, defeating Quinnipiac’s Rachel Horton in straight sets, 6-14, 6-4.
Men's Player of the Week
Kei Ezaka, Quinnipiac
Jr., Ojai, CA/ Weil Tennis Academy College Prep
Ezaka earned 3 wins vs. MAAC foes Monmouth and Marist, as he became the seventh player in Division I program history to win his 100th career match. Against Monmouth, Ezaka paired up with teammate Luke Roser to defeat the Hawk’s number two doubles pairing of Richard Chen and Ale Gomez, 6-1. In singles play, Ezaka defeated Monmouth’s number one player, Vidit Vaghela, 6-4, 7-6 (1). In Quinnipiac’s first MAAC loss to Marist, Ezaka was able to take down Marist’s number one player, Rudolf Kurz, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. With these three wins, Ezaka now has 32 wins this season, 16 in singles and 16 in doubles.
