Fairfield
On March 24, Fairfield student-athletes hosted the Classical Studies Magnet Academy on campus for a college preview/experience. Students from the 5th and 6th grades toured campus, learned about what a typical college day is like, and discussed the potential majors they could pursue in college. They also had an open Q&A with the student-athletes to learn about their backgrounds, what steps they took to get to college, and what they plan to do in the future. They also had a chance to visit with Lucas the Stag and Dakota the therapeutic dog.
Iona
On Friday, April 8th, the women’s volleyball team participated in Meals 2 go. Meals 2 go is a program that supplies nutritional meals for people who are in need of them. The volleyball team helped prepare and package these meals.
Marist
Members of Marist Athletics attended a speech given by a member of the Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie and then marched across campus with a banner and white ribbons in support of the White Ribbon Campaign which promotes the global movement to end male violence against women.
Niagara
Niagara held an open swim for local youth to attend.
Rider
Members of men's and women's soccer and field hockey participated in Rider's Relay for Life. An all-night event that raises awareness and funds for the battle against cancer. This years Relay for Life raised over $60,000.
Saint Peter’s
On Wednesday April 13th the Women’s swim team took part in a community service event to help clean up and reorganize the food and clothing pantry at Saint Aedan’s Church. Overall, the Women’s Swim team had a wonderful day helping organize the food and clothing pantry. It was a beautiful day that helped give a new perspective to the student-athletes on how helping with something small goes a long way and makes a big difference to those in need.
Siena
The Siena swimming and diving team volunteered at the Red Cross 5K Run on April 10.
