2016 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Field Set

EDISON, NJ – Following the conclusion of the regular season this afternoon, the field is set for the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship.
The 2016 MAAC Regular Season Champions, Quinnipiac University, finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record in conference play and will be the number one overall seed in next week’s championship, while serving as the host school. The Bobcats will take on fourth seeded Canisius College, who finished with a 3-3 record in the MAAC, in the first semifinal matchup of the 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship. Game time is set for noon on Thursday, May 5.
Marist College finished the regular season with a 4-2 record in conference play to earn the second seed. The Red Foxes will face third seeded Monmouth University, who claimed a spot in the championship after an exciting 14-13 win in overtime against Siena College in its regular season finale. The Hawks finished with a 3-3 record in the MAAC, and hold the tiebreaker over Canisius College by way of the Hawks 11-6 win over the Griffs during the regular season. This semifinal matchup will take place on Thursday, May 5 at 3:30 p.m.
The two winners of the semifinal matchups will meet in the 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship game on Saturday, May 7 at noon. All games can be seen on MAAC.TV.
The winner of that game will represent the MAAC in the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship. The NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Selection Show takes place on Sunday, May 8 at 9:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
