ECAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Zingaro – Manhattan College, So., Goalkeeper, Cortland Manor, N.Y.
Zingaro set the defensive tone in Manhattan’s 14-5 win over NJIT, recording a career-high 21 saves while also becoming one of just a handful of goalies to score a game in a Division I game this year. His 21 stops are also tied for the third-most in Division I game this year. Zingaro began his big game with six saves in the first half before NJIT turned up the pressure on offense after halftime. The sophomore netminder was up to task, notching nine saves while allowing just one shot to find the back of the net in the third quarter. He capped his big performance with six saves in the fourth quarter.
ECAC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Jourdan Roemer – Canisius College, Fr., Attack, Irondequoit, N.Y.
Roemer was an offensive threat for the Griffins last week, totaling 10 points on seven goals and three assists past week. The freshman opened the week by netting four goals and getting an assist in the team’s convincing 16-5 victory over St. Bonaventure on Monday, then followed up with three goals and two assists against Quinnipiac on Saturday.
