BRONXVILLE, New York - Marist men's lacrosse attack Joseph Radin added another national nomination to his resume May 17 when he was announced as one of 10 finalists for the Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award.

Handed out annually by the One Love Foundation, the Unsung Hero Award recognizes the accomplishments of one male and one female Division I lacrosse student-athlete who demonstrate dedication, integrity, humility, hard work, community service, leadership, kindness and sportsmanship.

The One Love Foundation was created in 2010 to honor Yeardley Love, a University of Virginia senior on the women's lacrosse team who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend just weeks before graduation. The organization aims to end relationship violence by educating, empowering and activating young people in a movement for social change. To achieve this, One Love develops creative technology-based tools and resources that meet young people where they are and inspire them to action.

During the fall 2015 semester, Radin participated in the One Love Foundation’s Escalation workshop with the Marist men's lacrosse team. The workshop educated students about relationship violence and empowered them to work for change.

The recipients of the 2016 Unsung Hero Award will be announced May 25. The male and female winners will receive a silver engraved bowl as well as a $250 donation to the charity of their choice.

Radin is a finalist for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award and was on the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List released in February. He became Marist's all-time leading scorer when he got his 146th career goal in a 12-6 win at Siena on April 9. With an average of 3.19 goals per game in 2016, Radin tied for first all time in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history and is currently fifth in the nation.
