Quinnipiac University and Marist College Square Off in the 2016 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Final

HAMDEN, CT - The 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular Season Champions, Quinnipiac University will face second seeded Marist College in the 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game on Saturday, May 7 at noon.
Number one seeded Quinnipiac University find themselves in the championship final after defeating fourth seeded Canisius College 13-7 in semifinal action. The Bobcats were led by the duo of Foster Cuomo and and Ryan Keenan. They combined to score nine goals to go along with three assists. Jack Brust recorded 18 saves in the net for Quinnipiac University.
Second seeded Marist College defeated third seeded Monmouth University 8-7 in the second semifinal game. The two teams matched each other goal for goal as it went down to the final seconds.
With 9.3 seconds left in regulation, Marist College freshman and All-Rookie Team Selection, Thomas Rago scored the game-winning goal on an assist from J.D. Recor.
These two teams met in last years championship game with Marist coming out on top. The Red Foxes are competing in its third straight championship game as they look to win its second straight and third MAAC Championship in program history. The Bobcats will look to win its first MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship tomorrow afternoon.
