OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - Marist men's lacrosse attack Joseph Radin was selected as one of five Senior CLASS Award First Team All-Americans in the nation after results of the voting for the 2016 Senior CLASS Award were announced May 27.

Brown University goalkeeper Jack Kelly received the award and was on the First Team along with Radin and three other Senior CLASS Award finalists from this year. The honor was handed out after about six weeks of fan voting combined with votes from members of the lacrosse media and Division I head coaches.

Back in February Radin was announced as one of 20 candidates for the award, which focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. To be eligible for the Senior CLASS Award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. On March 30 Radin made the cut down to 10 finalists and finished third in the fan vote.

Radin became Marist's all-time leading scorer when he got his 146th career goal in a 12-6 win at Siena on April 9. He was also on the initial Tewaaraton Award Watch List and chosen as one of five finalists in the nation for the Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award. Prior to his senior season Radin was the first Red Fox to be chosen in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft when the Charlotte Hounds selected him in the sixth round with the 45th overall pick.
