Staten Island, NY – For the second straight season, Jess Lundgren (Queensland, Australia/ Mountain Creek) has been named a 2016 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC)  All-American Honorable Mention, becoming the first Seahawk to garner multiple All-America honors.

Lundgren is one of 32 collegiate women's water polo players to be named honorable mention and is part of an elite group of just 55 student-athletes that can call themselves 2016 ACWPC All-Americans.

The 2016 NCAA Champion University of Southern California (USC)  Trojans took home top honors as Stephania Haralabidis was named Player of the Year while Jovan Vavic was tabbed Coach of the Year.

Lundgren was the top playmaker all season for the Seahawks, accumulating a league-best 207 points en route to her second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Year award. She also earned a spot on the All-MAAC First Team for the fourth consecutive season.

The Queensland, Australia native set the MAAC single-season goal record by breaking Maggie Wood's (Iona, 2011) mark of 119 as Lundgren found the back of the net 146 times in 2016. The dominant center also led the conference in steals with 121, which was 48 better than the league’s second-best mark, while ranking second in assists with 61.  On a per-game basis, Lundgren led the conference in goals per game (3.74), points per game (5.31), steals per game (3.10) and was second in assists per game at 1.56.

In helping the Seahawks capture their third straight MAAC title, with an 8-5 victory over Marist in the May 1 championship game, Lundgren concludes her stellar career as the all-time Wagner leader in goals scored (428), steals (505) and is second in assists (237) and exclusions drawn (277).
