Wagner Leads Nation In Team GPA For Fifth Consecutive Year, ACWPC All-Academic Members Announced

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's water polo team has earned the highest grade point average (GPA) in the nation for the fifth consecutive year, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced on Tuesday.
 
In addition to attaining a national-best 3.61 GPA in the classroom, which heads a list of 44 institutions from around the country, in the pool the 2016 Seahawks claimed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, and accompanying NCAA Tournament appearance, for the third consecutive season.
 
"Our student-athletes' commitment in the classroom is truly extraordinary," said head coach Chris Radmonovich. "In addition to being tremendous competitors athletically, this group of young ladies consistently devote the utmost dedication and effort to their studies and I'm proud that they have held this honor now for five consecutive years."

Freshmen Isabel Leveque and Courtney Fisher were the lone Marist representatives to garner Outstanding Merit Level. The nine qualifiers for Superior were junior Jocelyn McQuade, sophomore Diana Carballo, graduating senior Brooke Else, freshman Grace Doerfler, freshman Ariana Singer, junior Amanda Amorosa, junior Nastassia McGlothlin, freshman Katie Tijerina and freshman Susan Cantoni. Graduating senior Ellie Hoffman, freshman Hope Vickers and freshman Caoimhe Whitebloom were in the Excellent category.

Niccole SalomoneEmma GaffneyKristen Kleist, and Morgan Allison were selected to the Superior Team. (3.41-3.70 gpa)

Juliette KhalilErin Gonzalez, and Nicole Herrick earned Excellent Team status. (3.20-3.40 gpa)

 

VMI senior goalkeeper Emily Farsakian, junior Bailey Huddleston and freshmen Sarah Dolitsky and Caroline Wojtas were named to the group by way of earning a grade-point average in excess of 3.20
