TUSCON, Arizona – Marist baseball’s Frankie Gregoire was named to the Collegiate Baseball Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced on Wednesday.
A First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection, Gregoire had an outstanding rookie campaign in 2016, leading the Red Foxes with a .317 batting average, to go along with team highs in doubles with 16, home runs with 10, RBI with 40 and slugging percentage at .583.
Gregoire also tied the program’s single season home run record on May 25 vs. Monmouth in the MAAC Championship Tournament, with a solo shot in the top of the fifth inning, for his tenth home run of the year.
"We are excited as a program for Frankie" said head coach Chris Tracz. "He has from day one showed the ability to change the game through his natural talent and work ethic. Frankie's development throughout this year was remarkable and we hope his best days are still ahead of him."
