Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Dominic Marshall, Fairfield

Sr., F, Middlesborough, England/Conyers

Dominic Marshall scored both goals in Fairfield's 2-1 win over Northeastern University in the team's home opener Saturday night. The forward put the Stags on the scoreboard with a goal two minutes into the second half, converting a penalty kick after he was taken down inside the penalty box. A few minutes later, Marshall finished a scoring chance that started with a free kick that pushed Fairfield in front 2-0 before settling for the one goal win. He opened the week with an assist in the Stags 2-1 overtime loss to Fordham University, giving him five points for the week and on the season.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Ryan Baird, Rider

Sr., GK, Plainfield, NJ/St. Peter’s Prep (Rutgers)

2 games, 2 shutouts, 10 saves. Shutout two unbeaten teams, 2-0-1 NJIT and 4-0 regionally ranked Temple (#2 in East, received votes in NSCAA top 25). Against Temple made a save on a PK, the 3rd time in two years he made a save on a PK. Has allowed just 1 goal in 4 games this year. He is 4-0 this year with 3 shutouts, only goal allowed on PK, 15-4 in his Rider career with 8 shutouts.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Michael Lorello, Marist

Fr., M, Melville, NY/Walt Whitman

In two wins at the UNCW SpringHill Suites Classic, Lorello was named to the All-Tournament Team, had one goal and two assists for four points to go along with two shots and one shot on goal. In a 2-1 win over Dayton, Lorello scored his first collegiate goal and assisted on the game winner as well as had one shot on goal. In just his second career game, a 2-0 win over Winthrop, he assisted the game winning goal to go along with one shot.
