Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Michele Tremblay, Siena

Jr., M, Goffstown, NH/ Goffstown

The red-hot Tremblay recorded her second straight multi-goal match and scored the game-winning goal as the reigning MAAC Champions opened their title defense with a 4-2 victory over Iona. Tremblay set the tone early scoring in the fifth minute, and her second tally of the day just 108 seconds into the second half put the Saints up by two and would prove to be the decisive score. Tremblay, who prior to last Sunday had never recorded a multi-goal match in her career, has now scored four times over her past two matches to spark a Siena offense which has recorded consecutive four-goal efforts, after having totaled just four goals over the team’s first seven matches of the season.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Bethany-May Howard, Rider

Sr., GK, Glastonbury, England/Bridgwater College

In a 1-0 week for the Broncs, Howard compiled seven saves in 2-1 MAAC win over Quinnipiac. Howard is now a three-time MAAC Wilson Defensive Player of the Week recipient.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Gretta Dry, Canisius

Fr., F, Lockport, NY/Lockport

Canisius freshman forward Gretta Dry recorded her third three-point game of the season Sept. 17, as the Golden Griffins went on the road and defeated Fairfield 2-1 in overtime. Dry scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 81st minute to knot the game at 1-1, and then in overtime, she was credited with the assist on the game-winning tally after she played a through-ball into the box. In all three of Canisius’ wins this season, Dry has been good for a goal and an assist to help the Blue and Gold’s efforts.
