Howard, Fairlamb Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

Bethany-May Howard
Women’s Soccer| Senior| Goalkeeper|5-7| Glastonbury, England |Bridgwater College
A goalkeeper on the soccer team, Howard owns a 3.942 cumulative grade point average while majoring in History. Even more impressive than her grade point average are her statistics on the soccer field. This year Howard has been named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week three times, the ninth time she has won this award in her career. The 2014 MAAC Championship MVP, Howard has twice earned All-MAAC and MAAC All-Academic honors. As a freshman she was on the MAAC All-Rookie team. She has 16 career shutouts, a Rider record, including eight last season. In 2015 she allowed just one goal at home all season, in a playoff win, and was named to the 2015 NSCAA All-Northeast Region team. During the summer of 2016 she played in the Women’s Super League in England for the Yeovil squad. Howard currently ranks 20th in the nation in saves and has 29 career wins.
Luke Fairlamb
Men’s Soccer | Senior | Forward | 5-10 | Northampton, England | Unity College
Senior Luke Fairlamb has lead the Peacock attack thus far in 2016. The Northampton, England native is one of the best forwards in the MAAC, ranking top five statistically in all offensive categories. Fairlamb currently ranks second in the conference in points (9) and points per game (1.80). His three goals are third best in the league along with his goals per game average. Fairlamb has also dished out three assists, which is tied for the a league-best and his assists per game average also ranks first in the MAAC.
