Offensive Player of the Week

Meg Donahue, Monmouth

Jr., F, Wyomissing, PA/ Berks Catholic

Meg Donahue posted six points, including a career-best five-point outburst against Temple, in a weekend that saw the Hawks go 2-0 to improve to 7-1.  Against Saint Joseph’s on Friday, Donahue assisted on Rachel Konowal’s goal, redirecting a feed to the stick of her classmate who pushed MU ahead 2-0 in an eventual 3-0 victory.  The junior scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the 60th minute on a penalty stroke, and added an assist to help give MU its first win over the Owls since 2011.  With her five points, Donahue became the eighth Hawk all-time, and second this season, to eclipse the 50 career points plateau.

Defensive Player of the Week

Julie Laszlo, Monmouth

Jr., D, Rotterdam, The Netherlands/Rotterdams Montessori Lyceum

Julie Laszlo continued her stellar play on both sides of the field this weekend.  The junior helped keep the high-powered Saint Joseph’s offensive to just two shots en route to MU’s fourth shutout of the year.  Laszlo and the defensive corps did not allow the nation’s leader in goals per game Anna Willocks to attempt a shot.  On Sunday, Laszlo added her team-leading fourth and fifth defensive saves against Temple.  The defender also recorded her fourth goal of the season, getting the Hawks on the board early in the second half off a corner play.

Rookie of the Week

Daana Koch, Rider

Fr., M/F, Berkel, Netherlands

A three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week honoree, Koch scored Rider’s only goal in a 5-1 loss at Hofstra on September 17. Koch leads Rider in goals and points.
