Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Junior Rosero, Siena

Sr., F, West Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist/Stony Brook

Rosero factored in the scoring in all three of Siena’s goals last week, totaling four points on a goal and two assists. On Wednesday he scored for the second straight game, accounting for the Saints’ goal in a narrow 2-1 defeat to reigning Sun Belt Regular Season and Tournament Champion Hartwick. On Saturday night, he served as the catalyst for Siena’s dramatic late come-from-behind win at Atlantic-10 foe George Mason. Rosero assisted on both Siena goals, setting up J.C. Obregon’s game-tying tally in the 87th minute, and then served in Matt Crisafulli for the game-winning golden goal less than five minutes later in overtime.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Steve Casey, Niagara

R-So., GK, Buffalo, NY/Williamsville South

Steve Casey made five saves in a shutout at Quinnipiac on Sept. 25 as the Purple Eagles secured a 1-0 win over the Bobcats in their lone match of the week. Casey tied a season-high in saves after he previously made five stops versus Buffalo (9/15). The win was the third clean sheet of the season for Casey and his fifth shutout in 19 games played at Niagara.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Matt Crisafulli, Siena

Fr., M, Selkirk, NY/ Christian Brothers Academy

Crisafulli made the most of his only appearance of the week, coming off the bench to score the game-winning golden goal in the Saints’ dramatic late come-from-behind win at Atlantic-10 foe George Mason Saturday night. The freshman scored just 80 seconds into overtime for his first collegiate game-winner, to cap a dramatic rally from the Saints which had tied the game with just three and a half minutes remaining in regulation.
