Player of the Week

Elizabeth Kloos, Quinnipiac

Jr., MH, Munster, IN/Munster HS

Kloos hit an impressive .500 in a 3-0 week for Quinnipiac, which defeated Siena and Iona for the first time ever, and Manhattan for the first time since joining the MAAC. In the weekend sweep at home against Iona and Manhattan, Kloos hit a combined 19-for-28 with no errors, good for a .679 hitting percentage, going 7-for-11 in the Iona sweep and 12-for-17 in the Manhattan sweep. She also served for an 11-0 run in the third set against Manhattan, turning a 3-0 deficit into an 11-3 lead. Quinnipiac is now 5-0 in the MAAC, eclipsing its win total from its first three seasons in the league combined, when it was 4-50.

Libero of the Week

Alejandra Rodriguez, Quinnipiac

Fr., Libero, Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Divine Savior (FL)

Rodriguez had a big day in a three-set road sweep over Siena, tallying 21 digs in only three sets, her second-best performance of her young career behind 23 in a four-set win over Saint Francis on Aug. 26.  It was the first win Quinnipiac has ever had against Siena, after coming in 0-15 all-time in the series. She led the Bobcats in digs in all three matches, adding 10 against Iona and seven against Manhattan, and had a service ace on set point in the second set of the win over Iona.

Rookie of the Week

Megan Fergus, Marist

Fr., MB/OH, Millbrook, NY/Millbrook

Fergus swatted seven kills and jumped for three blocks in Marist’s 3-0 victory over Siena on Sept. 24.  The match marked the second consecutive meeting that Marist blanked the Saints. Fergus is second on the Red Foxes with 100 kills in the first 13 matches of her collegiate career. Marist is unbeaten in MAAC play this season and has a three-match winning streak heading into this week.
