Offensive Player of the Week

Julie Laszlo, Monmouth

Jr., D, Rotterdam, The Netherlands/Rotterdams Montessori Lyceum

Julie Laszlo continued her strong start to the 2016 season, recording four points on a goal and a pair of assists as Monmouth moved to 4-0 for the first time in program history.  The junior defender, who also recorded two defensive saves, assisted on Alyssa Ercolino’s goal against Lafayette on Friday, before connecting on her second goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winner, against Georgetown on Sunday.  Laszlo, who also assisted on Casey Hanna’s second half goal against the Hoyas, attempted 13 shots over the weekend, including 12 against Georgetown, with seven total landing on target over the two games.

Defensive Player of the Week

Christen Piersanti, Monmouth

Jr., GK, Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater-Raritan

Junior Christen Piersanti ran her scoreless streak to over 214 minutes as the goalkeeper recorded a pair of shutouts over Lafayette and Georgetown.  Piersanti, who has recorded three-straight shutouts and has seven career clean sheets, turned away all eight shots that were directed towards her cage to help Monmouth propel to 4-0 on the year.  The Bridgewater, NJ native withstood all 21 defensive corners, including 15 against Lafayette.  She becomes the first Hawk goalkeeper to record three-straight shutouts since the 2010 season.

Rookie of the Week

Daana Koch, Rider

Fr., M/F, Berkel, Netherlands

Koch had five shots, three on goal and recorded a goal and an assist, helping lead Rider to a 6-0 win over Georgetown on September 1…playing 47 minutes, Koch assisted on the game-winner just 2:19 into the game and she scored her first collegiate goal with just under 12 minutes remaining as the Broncs built a 5-0 lead.
