Alves, Ediger Named MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Ediger averaged 2.81 kills, 1.91 digs and 2.50 points per set for Marist in three matches at the Cornell Invitational on Sept. 2 and 3. She fell just shy of a double-double with nine kills and nine digs alongside a pair of service aces against James Madison to begin the weekend. Ediger got her 500th career kill when Marist faced Michigan State on Aug. 27 in the Aztec Invitational. 
A media studies and production major, Ediger was a MAAC All-Academic and All-Championship team honoree in 2015.

Alves finished second in goals for the Hawks' MAAC Regular Season Championship squad last season with five tallies to go along with an assist. He scored game-winning goals against Villanova and Seton Hall and scored twice in a 2-2 tie at Marist. He also staked Monmouth to a lead in the MAAC Championship Quarterfinals against Manhattan. A fixture in the Hawks' midfield, he's seen action in 44 of 45 games Monmouth has played since he arrived on campus three years ago. Alves has also achieved in the classroom, posting a 3.39 GPA as a business finance major.
