Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Team Placed Second in College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac University Women’s Basketball team ranked second in this week’s College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. The No. 2 overall rank marks the third consecutive week that the Bobcats have placed second in the poll. This is the 10th week in a row that Quinnipiac has been ranked in the Top 10 dating back to November 15.

Green Bay captured the top spot, receiving all 31 first place votes. Quinnipiac followed in second with a total of 731 points. The Bobcats are currently on a seven-game winning streak and won their last six conference games since MAAC play resumed on December 30.

Quinnipiac defeated Fairfield University, 60-55 on Monday, January 16 in its lone game since knocking off Manhattan College, 81-38 on Tuesday, January 10. The Bobcats will be back in action on Thursday, January 19 for a road matinee against Monmouth University at 11:30 a.m. from the OceanFirst Bank Center in West Long Branch, NJ.

Quinnipiac ranks first in the MAAC in scoring offense (70.3), scoring defense (58.1), scoring margin (+12.2), field goal percentage defense (36.4%), blocked shots (4.4), assists (16.9), steals (12.3), turnover margin (+6.94), and assist/turnover ratio (1.1).  

Rider University tallied 50 votes in this week’s poll, after cracking the poll for the first time in program history at No. 25 overall last week. The Broncs have now received votes in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll for the sixth consecutive week.
