Fiore, Hughes Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Awards

Paolo Fiore
Men's Track | Senior | Brightwaters, NY/St. John the Baptist
Senior Paolo Fiore has been a key component to the Siena track program. In the 2015-16 season, Fiore was Siena’s first IC4A Outdoor Track Qualifier in the 1500-meter event. He holds a school record in the 800-meter (2:01.22) and the second fastest time in the 1500-meter (3:45.57). Last season, Fiore won the 3000-meter event twice once in the outdoor Monmouth Season Opener and once in the indoor Yale Opener. At the 2016 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Fiore was a part of the Distance Medley Relay that placed third and also went on to qualify for the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. He is also a two-time MAAC All-Academic team member.
Talah Hughes

Junior guard Talah Hughes, is averaging 12.9 points per game, to lead Saint Peter’s this season and ranks 10th in the league. Hughes also leads the Peacocks in rebounding (5.6 per game) and blocked shots (0.7 per game). She is also eighth in the MAAC’s in field-goal shooting percentage (49.0).
On January 22, against Manhattan College Hughes surpassed her career-high in points, scoring 22. In addition, she has led her squad in 10 out of 19 games in scoring, while also leading in rebounds, assists, steals, or blocked shots in at least four games per category this season.
