11 MAAC Swimming and Diving Teams Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams; Iona Women Ranked First in Nation

EDISON, NJ – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named 11 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Swimming and Diving teams to its Fall Scholar All-America Teams. This award recognizes teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 Fall Semester. A record-breaking total of 638 teams, representing 394 institutions have been recognized for their Fall 2016 academic success. Iona College ranks number one in the nation for Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving with a 3.69 team GPA.

Five Men’s Swimming and Diving squads have been named to the CSCAA Men’s Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2016 Semester. The teams include Bryant University, Canisius College, Iona College, Manhattan College, and Marist College. Iona Men’s Swimming and Diving finished the Fall 2016 semester with a 3.34 team GPA followed by Marist (3.27), Bryant (3.23), Canisius (3.24), and Manhattan (3.22).

Six Women’s Swimming and Diving teams have been named to the CSCAA Women’s Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2016 Semester. Iona ranks number one in the nation for Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving with a 3.69 team GPA, edging out Brown University (3.68) and Grand Canyon University (3.68). Siena College posted a 3.56 cumulative GPA for the Fall 2016 semester followed by Canisius (3.44), Marist (3.42), Monmouth University (3.20), and Manhattan (3.03).
