EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac University Women’s Basketball alumna Tiffany Webster (’16) was named a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 15th annual “So You Want To Be A Coach” class. Participants will engage in a three-day workshop, which will be held from March 29-31 in conjunction with the WBCA National Convention in Dallas, TX.
“It’s so great to see the WBCA select Tiffany for this prestigious seminar and I’m excited for the future that lies ahead for her. Seeing now our third former Bobcat selected into the class is great recognition for the school and the women’s basketball program,” said Quinnipiac University Head Coach Tricia Fabbri. “Tiffany joins a distinguished bunch at Quinnipiac in Gillian (Abshire) and Val (Driscoll) who were selected for the class in 2015. I know she’ll represent herself and Quinnipiac well and we wish her nothing but the best of luck moving forward.”
Candidates in the “So” program will learn about the fundamental skills that are necessary to secure a coaching position in women’s basketball, increase understanding and awareness of competencies for success in coaching, introduce female basketball players to coaches and administrative staff, and will also raise awareness about female basketball players who are passionate about coaching women’s basketball. Candidates will also be exposed to scouting, networking, how to get hired, knowledge of the rules, and how to balance work and life.
"We continue to invest in young, aspiring coaches through our ‘So You Want To Be A Coach' program," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "Each year, the WBCA family reinforces our support for this important entry-level program. We have high expectations for these graduating student-athletes and the future contributions they will make to the game of women's basketball."
