Samantha Cooper averaged a double-double with 15.0 points and 10.7 rebounds as the Stags won three games in a five-day span. The MAAC leading rebounder had a game-high 12 boards in the comeback win against Monmouth and also led all players with 13 caroms against Siena. Against Monmouth, Cooper helped the Stags pull off one of the biggest comebacks in program history. The Stags rallied from 18 points down as Cooper’s three-pointer in the fourth quarter gave Fairfield its first lead of the night. Cooper also added 3.3 assists and shot 6-of-13 (46.0%) from behind the arc.

In three games this week, Monmouth’s freshman guard Kayla Shaw scored a total of 47 points and knocked down 13 three-pointers. Shaw scored nine points in Monmouth’s 79-69 win over Marist on Monday. On Wednesday, she scored 17 points on five triples against Fairfield. In Monmouth’s 17-point victory over Saint Peter’s on Saturday, the freshman poured in a career-high 21 points on another five three-pointers, hitting three triples in the first 5:49 after earning her fourth start of the year. Shaw added eight rebounds in the three games. The Arizona native has scored in double-digits nine times this season.
