QU Women’s Basketball Receives Votes in USA Today Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll
Bobcats Earned the 32nd-Most Votes in the Preseason Poll, Finished 2016-17 Ranked #23 in USA Today Coaches' Poll

HAMDEN, CT – The Quinnipiac women's basketball team earned 27 points in the 2017-18 USA Today Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, as announced today by the USA Today Sports Board of Coaches. The Bobcats received the 32
nd-most votes in the national poll as their standing and total points (27) reflect the program's highest ranking in the USA Today Coaches' preseason poll.
Quinnipiac's 27 points are the highest among all mid-majors in the poll while the Bobcats are potentially set to face two current nationally-ranked programs (four if including others receiving votes) this season in No. 8 Ohio State and No. 16 Missouri (potential opponent in Iowa Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 11). Topping the USA Today Coaches' Preseason Top 25 is UConn, South Carolina, Baylor, Mississippi State and Notre Dame.
The storybook 2016-17 Sweet 16 season for Quinnipiac women's basketball ended with the program's first-ever national ranking as the Bobcats earned the No. 23 spot in the final USA Today Coaches' Poll of last season. Quinnipiac had twice before received votes in national polls, during the 2012-13 and 2014-15 seasons, as today's announcement marks the fourth season in program history the Bobcats have received votes in a national poll.
