Final Wilson Men's Soccer Weekly Awards Announced

Offensive Player of the Week
Santiago Mateus, Saint Peter’s
Sr., F, Morristown, NJ/Morristown
 
The Morristown, NJ native played a role in all three of Saint Peter’s tallies in the Peacocks 3-1 win over Siena on Saturday afternoon. Mateus scored two goals and added an assist in the win, giving him five points on the day. The goals were his first tallies of the season and his first time finding the back of the net since his freshman season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
David Pastuna, Rider
Sr., GK, Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville
 
Pastuna posted a 0.45 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage in the Broncs’ 1-0-1 week. He made three saves in the Broncs’ 2-1 win at Iona on Wednesday before securing four saves in a shutout of Marist in a scoreless draw on Saturday. The shutout was Pastuna’s fifth of the year and the 11th of his career.
 
Rookie of the Week
Filippo Tamburini, Canisius
Fr., F, Rimini, Italy/IPSIA LB Alberti-Reimini
 
Tamburini recorded a season-high six points with two goals and two assists to lead Canisius to a 4-2 victory over Marist on October 25. He tallied the game-winning goal in the victory over the Red Foxes that clinched the Griffs berth in the 2017 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship.
