Final MAAC Field Hockey Weekly Award Winners Announced

Offensive Player of the Week
Kelly Hanna, Monmouth
Jr., F, Seaville, NJ/Ocean City (Rutgers)
 
Kelly Hanna led Monmouth offensively in a two-win weekend which saw the Hawks capture their fourth-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship. The junior recorded an assist in the victory at Bryant on Friday before exploding for seven points having a hand in all five of the Hawks' goals in a 5-0 victory over rival Rider. Hanna scored twice and assisted the three other goals to become the sixth player in program history to record seven points in a game. The second-year Hawk has four multi-goal games this season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Molly Jannell, LIU Brooklyn

Goalie Molly Janell helped propel LIU into its first-ever appearance in the MAAC Championship this weekend. The sophomore made 25 saves in net without giving up a single goal in regulation or double overtime, and registering a shutout win in a crucial MAAC game at Sacred Heart. Jannell, who tallied 185 minutes in goal over two games, had a huge performance in Friday night's game. In a must-win situation for the Blackbirds, Jannell made 13 saves to shut out Sacred Heart and allow LIU to win, 1-0, clinching the No. 2 seed in the postseason tournament. In Sunday's non-league contest against Davidson, Jannell nearly matched her total, making 12 saves and not giving up a goal in regulation or either overtime period. The game, decided in a penalty shootout, saw Jannell stop two of Davidson's shots before the Wildcats won the shootout, 3-2, and the game, 1-0. SHe finished the weekend with a 1.00 save percentage.
 
Rookie of the Week
Tamar Klinkhammer, Monmouth
Fr., D, Laren, Netherlands/Montessorischool
 
Freshman Tamar Klinkhammer continues her strong play on the backline, while contributing on attacking corners. The rookie helped limit the Bulldogs and Broncs to just one goal on six shots while surrendering five attacking corners in 140 minutes of play. The Netherlands native finished the weekend with five points, scoring a pair of goals while assisting on another in a weekend which the Hawks claimed their fourth-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship.
