Monmouth Field Hockey Returns to National Rankings
GILBERT, AZ – Following a week absences, the Monmouth University field hockey team returned to the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Poll, coming in tied for 25th with Boston University, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Hawks (8-2), winners of six straight, won their lone game last weekend against Sacred Heart in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener. The Blue and White overwhelmed the Pioneers, outshooting SHU 33-2 and earned eight attacking corners while defending just one.

Josephine van der Hoop all scored in the opening 24 minutes, while the defense did not allow a shot attempt to reach cage en route to a 4-0 victory.
The Hawks are ranked in the top-10 in six national statistical categories, including goals per game (3rd; 4.40), scoring average (3rd; 4.31), points per game (3rd; 12.30), scoring margin (3rd; 2.94), assists per game (4th; 3.50) and winning percentage (8th; .800).
Julie Laszlo, who registered a helper on the first three Hawks' goals on Friday, leads the nation in assists per game (1.40) and ranks 15th with 2.20 points per game.
Monmouth continues MAAC play on Friday, October 6th when it travels to Fairfield for a 4 p.m. meeting with the Stags, before taking on Hofstra at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 8th in Hempstead, NY.
