Kibet & Nicholes Earn Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

Evans Kibet earned MAAC All-Conference honors during both his freshman and sophomore year during Cross Country. The Nandi Hills, Kenya native took 15th in the MAAC Cross Country Championship during the 2016 season and finished seventh during the 2017 season. He took silver in the 800m at the 2017 MAAC Outdoor Championship and qualified for the ECAC/IC4A Championship. Kibet finished seventh at the ECAC/IC4A Championship with a school record 1:51.26 time. Kibet was Siena's first ever male All-MAAC honoree.

Nicholes led the Peacocks at the MAAC Championships this past weekend in the 6K run with a finishing time of 26:00.40. In addition to finishing with the team-best time at the championships, Nicholes was also named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. During the season, Nicholes paced the Peacocks this year, finishing with the team's best time at every event in 2017. In the classroom, Nicholes is a Criminal Justice major and she also took part in a study abroad trip to the Amazon rainforest in Peru as part of an intro to environmental studies class during the summer of 2017.
