Marcellin Gohier
Manhattan College
Men’s Soccer

Last week, Gohier was recognized as Manhattan's first-ever MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year. The Pouance, France native was stellar in his first season in Riverdale. He collected eight wins in 2017 and went 6-3-1 in conference play. During the regular season, he led the MAAC with a .862 save percentage and a 0.59 goals-against average. At one point in the year, he held the second-best save percentage in all of Division I soccer. His six individual shutouts this season are tied for the third-most ever in a single season for Jasper soccer. Gohier is the first Jasper to be named to the All-MAAC First Team since Abraham Bartoah in 2015 and the first to win a major individual award since Head Coach Jorden Scott was tabbed as the conference's Coach of the Year in 2013.

Egle Morenaite
Iona College
Women’s Cross Country

Freshman Egle Morenaite is concluding an absolutely dominant freshman campaign with the Iona College women’s cross country program.  Following up on a first place finish at the Metropolitan Championship (Oct. 13), the rookie led the Maroon & Gold to its second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title by crossing the finish line first in a time of 21:26.99.  Morenaite captured both the Most Outstanding Runner and Most Outstanding Rookie of the Meet.

On the national stage, Morenaite led the charge for Iona at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship held in Buffalo, NY.  The Gaels placed sixth among all the competing teams, and Morenaite propelled the Maroon & Gold with an individual seventh place finish.  Her 21:55.8 effort on the 6K course was enough to be selected as an individual qualifier in the NCAA Championship this upcoming Saturday.

Morenaite will be competing on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10:45 AM.  The Iona College men’s cross country team will be running as a team following the women’s race.
