Week Five MAAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Award Winners Announced

Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Rebecca Anthone, Canisius
Sr., Clarence, NY/Clarence

Senior Rebecca Anthone won the 50 (24.70), 200 (1:55.21), and 500-yard (5:16.12) free races at Colgate to win her third MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week honor this season.
 
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Matthew Mays, Bryant
Fr., St. Croix, Virgin Islands/Good Hope Country Day

Mays again won all five of his races this weekend, improving to 14-for-14 in individual events in a meet that saw the Bulldogs blow past NJIT and Saint Peter's to improve to 6-0 on the season. 200 fly (1st): 1:53.70 400 medley relay (1st): 3:29.27 400 IM (1st): 4:11.64 100 fly (1st): 52.29 400 free relay (1st): 3:14.17
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Vivian Mroz, Canisius
Jr., Denver, CO/Bronxville
 
Mroz placed second in both the 1-meter (240.07) and 3-meter(253.57) events on the road at Colgate. The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams split the afternoon, on the road at Colgate. The Canisius men won by a score of 187.5-93.5, while the women's squad dropped 160-128.Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams will return to action Nov. 11, when the Griffs travel to swim at St.Bonaventure.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Travis Wright, Canisius
Sr., Derby, NY/Lake Shore
Canisius senior Travis Wright won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions and broke two pool records at Colgate. Wright's score of 344.40 took top-honors in the 1-meter, then in the 3-meter, the senior posted 407.17 points en route to a first-place honor. The Canisius men won by a score of 187.5-93.5.
